Stitching Comfort: Quail Run’s Helping Hands Share Warmth Across the Community

An inspiring feature in the Arizona City Independent shines a spotlight on the remarkable residents of Quail Run RV Resort and their sewing group, Helping Hands of Quail Run. For nearly 20 years, this dedicated team has lovingly crafted colorful teddy bears with outstretched arms and cozy handmade blankets – each stitch sewn with care and compassion.

Led by residents Vivian Reno, LaDonna Waring, and Karen Harris, the group gathers regularly to create these cheerful bears in bright fabrics and playful patterns. Their handmade gifts are donated to organizations and hospitals serving individuals facing difficult circumstances, especially children in need of comfort and reassurance.

Over the years, their creations have reached the Arizona City Fire District, Alliance Cancer Support Center, Banner Health, Against Abuse, Inc. in Casa Grande, and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Eloy, bringing warmth and comfort into the hands of children who need it most.

Through fabric, thread, and generous hearts, Helping Hands of Quail Run continues to make a meaningful difference in the community, one teddy bear and one blanket at a time. Great job to this extraordinary group of volunteers!
